Meet your neighbor.

Hi, I’m Carly.
I make the bread.

Next Dough starts in my home kitchen, where I make sourdough by hand.

I’m a mom to five-year-old Elouise, wife to Austin, and dog mom to little Izzie. When I’m not baking, you’ll find me in the garden, or planning for the chickens I can’t wait to bring home.

Handmade at home. Shared with the neighborhood.

A little home.
A lot of good.

Handmade in our home kitchen.
Made for your table.

How I bake.

Three simple rules, and a starter that’s older than Elouise’s favorite stuffed animal.

Slow, on purpose.

Every loaf gets a long, cold ferment. It takes longer, and it tastes like it.

Short ingredient list.

Flour, water, salt, and a well-fed starter. Anything extra comes from the garden or someone I know.

Small batches.

One home oven, a handful of loaves at a time. Each one shaped and scored by hand.

The Next Dough crew.

Everyone helps.
